What are Passing Charts?
The field is divided into different zones based on the depth and location of the play.
The charts show:
Where a player is being used
How frequently they're targeted or attempting passes in each area
How the opposing defense performs in those areas
Additional player and defensive statistics for each zone

How to read the chart
Circle size = Player usage
The size of the circle in each zone represents how frequently the player is involved in that area.
A larger circle means the player has a higher percentage of attempts or usage in that zone.

The color of each zone represents how the opposing defense performs in that area:
Green = More favorable defensive matchup
Yellow = Neutral
Red = More difficult defensive matchup

Example
If a quarterback has a high percentage of attempts in the Short Right zone, you can select that area to see how often they're throwing there and how the opposing defense performs against passes in that zone. In this example, Jordan Love has 17% of his attempts in the Short Right zone. The zone is shown in red because the Falcons have been strong in that area, ranking 6th in the league in completion rate allowed.
Passing Charts for Receiving Props
Passing & Receiving Charts can also be used when researching wide receiver props.
For receiving players, the chart can show where they're running routes and how the defense performs against those types of routes.
For example, you may be able to see:
Route type
Route frequency
Completions and attempts
Player completion rate
Defensive completion rate
How often the defense allows completions on that route
This can help you understand a receiver's usage and the defensive matchup by area of the field.
