In short, Green always means favorable to the bet you are analyzing in Outlier

The opponent ranking coincides with the bet category you are looking at, so it will change depending on whether you are looking at an Over or an Under. For example, If you are looking to bet an "Over" in a player prop for points, the opponent rank would be red if the opposition has a good defense, and a low number (showing they are that 'number ranking' for points allowed amongst the rest of the teams in that league).

The reverse is also true, in the example above you can see that Detroit has a low ranking defense, so it shows as green since it's favorable for Tyrese Maxey going Over this Points + Assist line.

If you are betting an "Under" in points the opposition ranking being green would signify that the opponent has a good defense, and therefore they are good at limiting points.

You can also analyze Positional Matchups this way! In the same Tyrese Maxey example above you can see that Detroit actually has a much stronger defense against Shooting Guards (SG). This over Points + Assist prop actually becomes less favorable for Maxey when you dive deeper into the data.

The value number is the actual average of points that the team lets up (or rebounds, assists, steals, etc). So this is saying that DET allows shooting guards to score 27.4 points per game on average, and 5.6 assists per game on average.

In the example below, you'll see that you can also filter and sort by Opposition Rank from the Props main screen.

We hope that helps create some clarity on this powerful data set for your player prop tool box! If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to reach out via support chat.
